Students Who Opt Out of PSSA

What will my child do while other students are taking the PSSA?

This is the response from the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE):
If the student is excused from the assessment due to parental or guardian request, school personnel must provide an alternative learning environment for the student during the assessment and select “Student had a parental request for exclusion from the assessment.

Parents, if you have issues with your child getting a appropriate alternative learning environment, please print page 9 and give it to your  child's principal and/or teachers.
